Epic Food Fight
WALT: respond.
Description: This term we have been responding to a range of articles/stories and we realised that the way we were responding was difficult for anyone else to understand. We have been practising writing our responses in full sentences so that anyone who reads them understands us.
Task: Read the article “La Tomatina” and answer the questions below.
1. What festival is held in Spain every August? The festival in Spain is called the La Tomatina.
2. What do people do during the festival? The people during the festival squeeze a tomato & throw it at someone.
3. How many tomatoes are used in the most epic food fight ever? 100 tons of tomatoes are used in the most epic food fight.
4. When and why did the festival start? The festival started at 1944. Why did the festival start because one of the city’s councilmen was attack with tomatoes.
5. Would you like to visit Bunol, Spain on the last Wednesday of August next year? I would not want to vist Bunol, Spain on the last Wednesday of August. Why or why not? Why because I hate getting messy & I hate tomatoes.

Māori poster
WALT: communicate a message.
Description: We have been participating in 3 different workshops around colour, compositions and fonts. We put these skills to use in a poster sharing our knowledge about Te Reo Maori.
Why? We have noticed that our posters are too cluttered and do not communicate a message well.
Task: Make a poster about Te Reo Maori.
Criteria:
Message: My message is clear and purposeful. Everything that is on my poster relates to my message.
Composition: My poster is balanced.
Font: My font is clear, readable and suits the message.
Colour: I have used 2-3 colours that are complementary. My background choice makes the text pop!
Accuracy: All of the words on my poster are spelt correctly.
Evaluation:
What are you most proud of and why? I am proud of the way I put the colour of my text boxes because I think I did a good job of the colour so think I need a pat on the back.
What challenged you the most and why? The thing that challenged me the most was the size of the text boxes because I really want to let people see the background.
Next time, what is a goal you can work towards? Learn more māori words at home so I can learn more words.
Feedback/Feedforward: I like the way the maori is so bold. But you could make the little words bigger.

Grass hopper tennis sample
WALT: improve our small ball skills like catching, throwing, and hitting.
Description: We have been participating in a tennis programme with Big John (John Salisbury) from Tennis Manawatu. He has taught us some tennis skills that help with controlling and hitting the ball. 1. What are you most proud of and why? I'm proud of my hitting because I am using all of my stringth to hit the high in the sky & when it comes down the other team will miss the ball so I can win.

3. Next time, what is a goal you can work towards? To practice at home so I can be better at slice the cheese.

Writing: States are three things that make matter. The three things are solid,liquid and gas. Solid is a lot of atoms that not have much space to move around. Liquid has les atoms then solid. Gas has way les atoms then solid that's because gas is air. You can't see the atoms that's because they are so tiny that you need a super microscope to see the atoms.

READING SAMPLE
WALT: We are learning to rote learn (learn off by heart).
Purpose: We are making mnemonics to help us learn our spelling words.
Process: We made sentences out of our spelling words to help us remember how to spell each word. We want to get 10/10. If we make them funny it helps us to remember them.

MATHS SAMPLE
WALT: solve problems by using the double & half strategy. Hi I'm Ross & this is a video made on show me. I made this post to show people how good I am at math's. I learned that fives & tens are much more easyer when you use them together. In my video I used 18x5= Then I half the 18 & put a 10 9x10=90 so that means 18x5=90. Published piece of writing
When I was entering the the dark black cave my legs were wobbling like jelly. When I was in the cave and I looked up I saw a hole. in it there was something round. I moved and I had to go through a little tunnel it was a tight fit but I got through I stoped. I looked left there was very small gap that indeed to go through and I ducked. I crawled but I was to big. I let the other people go I went back I saw the other people. I was scared. I was at the back I followed the rest I got out of the cave some people wanted to go back in the cave so they went back into the cave.

Weet bix tryathlon
The challenging part of the weet bix tryathlon was the swimming becuase I was going slowly & it was very hard. The most enjoying part of the tryathlon was the bounce tunnel & it was so cool when I got to the end there was losts of kids there. I learnt that I need to xasice more. Next time I well have to lrean to stop on my bike & hop on my & push my self at the same time.

Treaty cinquains
Cinquains are poems that are short and easy to write. They follow the format below.
They have a set number of lines that they have to be that goes like this:
1st line: One word. This acts as your title
2nd line: Two words. These are Describing words about your title
3rd line: Three words. Some Action words to do with the title
4th line: Four words: Feelings about the title
5th line: One word: That is a Synonym or word that means the same as the title
Your task is to write a Cinquain about the Treaty of Waitangi.
Here’s how to do it:

Use the thesaurus to help gather more words.

Art
WALT: use colour effectively. This is my art. I had to take a photo of myself and print it and cut it out. I put it on a black pieced of paper and drawled round it and cut it out. I stuck it on the coloured paper. My picture is fantastic because it's got 6 colours and a big me in the middle.
